Emergency Siding Repair For Damage That Can't Sit Until Next Week

Not every siding problem needs to be handled the same day, but some do. A panel ripped off in a windstorm, a sizable impact hole, or anything that leaves sheathing directly exposed to the weather falls into the urgent category, and our Ho Ho Kus, NJ team treats these calls differently from a standard repair request. The first goal in a situation like this is stopping water from getting in, even if that means putting up a secure temporary covering before we can schedule the full, permanent fix.

When we show up on an emergency call, the first thing we do is figure out how exposed the wall really is and whether the inside of the home is at immediate risk. From there, we put in the fastest safe path to a weathertight temporary solution, house wrap or a sealed covering fastened securely enough to hold until we can source matching material for the permanent repair. This two-step approach protects the home right away without rushing a permanent fix that deserves to be done properly.

Once the immediate risk is under control, the permanent repair gets handled to the same standard as any other siding job we do — matched material, correct flashing, and fastening to manufacturer spec. Ho Ho Kus, NJ gets its share of sudden windstorms and falling-limb damage, so having a real plan for exposed walls matters as much as having a plan for the finished repair itself. After #YEARS years answering these calls, we've learned speed on the temporary fix and patience on the permanent one carry equal weight.
